Preparing for Success
Participants thrive when they:
- arrive prepared
- engage actively
- contribute thoughtfully
- reflect honestly
- remain open to feedback
- support the learning of others
Growth develops through practice, reflection, discussion, feedback, and application.
Every participant contributes to the quality of the learning environment.
Online Learning Expectations
Online learning offers flexibility while also creating opportunities for intentional practice and feedback.
Participants should be prepared to:
- record practice and teaching assignments
- position a camera to capture both teaching and movement
- ensure clear audio quality
- upload videos when requested
- participate actively in discussions and breakout sessions
A professional studio space is not required.
A clean, safe, and well-lit environment that supports teaching, movement, and communication is sufficient.
If access to a studio is limited, participants may work with:
- friends
- family members
- practice students
- virtual participants
The goal is effective communication, purposeful teaching, and meaningful feedback.
Technology Checklist
Please ensure access to:
- reliable internet service
- webcam
- microphone
- yoga mat
- adequate movement space
- Zoom
- course platform access
Testing technology before the first session creates a smoother experience for everyone.
Productive Struggle
Productive Struggle is a foundational principle of Productive Struggle Institute.
Growth emerges when challenge is paired with support, reflection, and the opportunity to improve.
Throughout the training you may:
- receive unexpected feedback
- revise your work
- discover new approaches
- strengthen skills through repetition
- teach before everything feels fully polished
These experiences are part of the learning process.
Productive Struggle creates the conditions where growth becomes possible.
Community Expectations
Learning takes place within a community of teachers committed to growth, reflection, and support.
Participants are encouraged to:
- contribute during discussions
- engage in breakout activities
- support peers respectfully
- offer thoughtful feedback
- remain open to multiple perspectives
The strength of the community depends upon the active participation of its members.

A Final Thought
This training becomes part of your practice.
How you learn is often how you teach.
How you respond to challenge is often how you lead.
The habits you develop here become part of the experiences you create for others.
We look forward to learning alongside you.
